i know you're just protecting yourself,
and i don't blame you.

neither of us signed up for this.
yet i can't help feeling just a little bit
disappointed, just a little bit
forlorn, and
just a little bit alone.

maybe if the superior had approached me
in a nicer or different way,
i would've perhaps come to terms with the situation.
 
i might, or might not even come back.
