the YOG medical team coverage was a good exposure, i must say.
exposure to dreadful weather conditions, angsty teen athletes
and overconfident local cheerleaders; one actually fell miserably after a routine
and was evacuated from the field. HAH. SUCKER.
no, really.
the cover was good despite the drastic changes in weather conditions.
it could be sweltering hot one moment and a heavy downpour at the next.
both weather conditions deserved curses from the team.
we weren't even sheltered la pls!
i've got obvious tan lines over my arms and my face got darker (sorry. bimbo moment.)
and most of my friends know that saidah and the sun don't really
get along.
we had to sit at the medical post with our ponchos on when it rained, no, poured,
looking like idiots at a losers bench or something.
cold, wet and angsty medical team.
few minutes of fame everytime an athlete needed medical attention on the field.
well, i was lucky i had met ben who's my nursing batch mate now a paramedic.
not only that, i made new friends with the ite nursing students and
also the first aiders from secondary schools.
at least things weren't as boring as i had anticipated it to be.
the experience i had gained is definitely invaluable.
i would even do it all over again.
some people even commented that i was stupid and wasted my energy on this
because i wasn't being paid for doing medical coverage.
i could've easily gotten $20/hr if i had joined the private sector.
covering at least 10 hrs a day could've made me rich by a few hundreds.
frankly speaking, i didn't mind not getting any at all.
what i wanted were simple; to represent SGH Medical Team and
gain the experience which other people don't have the priviledge of getting.
and i got both. =)
