there's this thing about the Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
your scale up the level of needs does not escalate with age
but rather your maturity in handling your life.

it's about realising the needs at a very young age.
then again, not all is based on that stand.

i honestly feel that i've learnt the most and performed my best
when i was in poly simply because i already know what i wanted.
well, maybe i rocked the social department a bit more than
the academics.
(we're still best of friends btw.)

while most of the other people i know ended their ass in uni,
i was already working a full time job at the age of 19.
by this time, i learnt how to treasure those people who matter.
(i only have a handful. great ones at that.)

i worked hard and nearly forgot entirely about the opposite sex.
till arman nearly died trying to convince me to get to know one of his friends.

then came the time when i started a relationship based on my gut feelings.
my feelings have yet to be proven wrong (insya'allah).
yes, i ended up with the guy whom arman introduced me to.
his name's arfan. =)

one thing this guy doesn't know is that his existance has
changed my entire life plan.
not in the "messing up my life" kind of way.
he has managed to convince me to grow up and
make priorities and needs happen.

2010.
i felt like going to school again.
so i decided to rope rajin into the degree wagon.
packed with work and studies,
the support i have is undeniable.
outings aren't frequent but those people
still stick around.
i love you guys.
you know who you are.

sometimes i ask myself if i would have done things differently.
i guess not.
i’ve realized that growing up isn't so bad after all.
sure you have more responsibilities,
bills to pay and whatnot.
but you also start to become someone you want.
not your parents, not your teachers, but YOU.

take baby steps.
but don't forget to grow up along the way.
cheers.
