coded

the recent outbreak of swine flu in mexico city
has definitely kept singapore on its toes.
since they have highly alerted it as something
worse than sars, which happened like 6 years ago,
the hospital i'm working in is currently
been coded yellow operationally. note the operationally.

in other words, being kiasu.
which in this case is not big of an issue.
really, it's not.
i'm actually taking this really seriously. haha.

coming to work to take and log in our temperature,
big counters raised at lift lobbies
with high definition heat detector sensors,
receiving latest updates during roll calls,
reading yahoo news while taking report (heh..).

it's likely to be a pandemic, people.
so start washing your hands properly.
tan tock seng hospital is even giving out a car just for washing hands, dammit.
and yes, once again, ttsh will be the main frontline
and isolation hospital for any suspected cases.

but it doesn't mean the rest of the nurses are taking a hitch hike or something.
we're all still exposed to whatnots in the hospital.
and i personally feel obligated to taking care of the babies and their mothers in my ward.
so there you go, saidah just wobbled like jell-o.

this is the part of nursing which normal civilians don't get.
of course i'm not talking about being the hero here but i guess
it takes alot to walk in a nurse's shoe. literally and figuratively speaking.
ok well, sgh should really consider giving us better shoes.
the current one sucks.
lol. sidetrack.

oh btw, latest update: one suspected case in south korea.
it's coming nearer.
