deaths

last month alone, there were two deaths in the family.
both were great fathers and they left behind such wonderful families.

with the coming of Ramadhan (which is tomorrow btw),
Allah decided to take another one of my uncles away,
which brings up the number of deaths to three.

i'm blogging because i can't sleep for nuts after dreaming about
my late brother a few nights back (i knew something wasn't right)
and getting the call from my cousin just an hour past midnight.

however, sometimes deprivation from sleep makes a person think too much.
just a while ago, i was thinking of my closest brush with
the near breakdown of my mental state when my one and only elder brother passed on.
the only one who kept her cool is mum.
she cried and she mourned, but she wasn't on the verge of insanity like the rest of us.
and then i thought about the families who lost their leader of the family.
they still have their sons to receive and lay their bodies 7 feet under.
they still have their sons to have the last touch and the last goodbye.
where am i getting at with this?

if my dad were to pass on (in every prayer i make, i'd hope for him to have the longevity of life. Insya'Allah),
he'll not have those so called privileges.
just thinking about this has made my heart ache so much.

but noone can stop the circle of life, can they?
