haha.
just two days ago i was the happiest girl.
and yesterday, luck wasn't on my side AT ALL.
running a station alone with one enrolled nurse wasn't the best idea i had in mind.
morning shift passed 6 empty beds for me to fill up by evening.
and by 9pm, i had 4 blood transfusions, 1 PCA pump and about 3 drips running.
not forgetting that out of 6 empty beds, 4 were transferred from other wards
whose staff passed shitloads to me and 2 transfer ins from the A station in my ward.
speaking of luck, when i was in charge during PRCP in ward 45, i hated to bring in patients from this particular ward.
cos their staff are fucking slow that i think a constipated cow would have easily pooed upon seeing their faces.
guess what? 2 of my patients were supposed to be transferred from THAT WARD.
so i decided to take precautions and called them up at 3pm so that they could arrange an earlier
transfer which means both parties will have lesser things to do come evening time.
they agreed on transferring at around 5pm-6pm. so i sacrificed my dinner waiting for them.
but noooo....they only came at 8.30pm! BOTH AT THE SAME TIME.
my patience tolerance level ran dry when alot of things weren't completed.
forms not put up, appointments not taken, wrong charting, wrong documentation, IV antibiotics not given.
man, i wasn't going to put up with their nonsense.
so, i made one of them stay to complete whatever crap they passed on.
i couldn't take any risks since audits are swinging by come monday onwards.
am i being anal to them? no right... i asked them politely with a smile some more, okay?
bottomline is that i only drank pink dolphin for dinner.
and i had to sneak down to Cheers cos yours truly was unfortunately holding on
to the Controlled Drugs cabinet keys.
"machiam robber" (as jennifer would put it) haha.
and by 9pm, i found myself scribbling my reports and
doing a bit of housekeeping at the nurses station.
i hate messy reports and messy table.
sorry la. a bit of obsessive compulsive behaviour.
passed report and by 9.45pm i was out of the ward cos dear daddy had waited for quite some time.
he's what i call, the 'better-be-on-time-or-i'll-leave-you' man.
the moment i stepped into the house, i found myself locked up in the toilet trying to vomit something out.
thing is, nothing came out except for that pink dolphin drink.
thing is, nothing came out except for that pink dolphin drink.
that's the beginning of a horrible night.
constantly waking up to either vomit or poo. bundle it together with a massive headache.
seemed like everything was spinning. (cue kylie's spinning around song.)
damn you, stomach flu. at this juncture, mind you, it is extremely rude to laugh.
was supposed to work morning shift today but called in sick at 5am.
the conversation with senior staff nurse poh went like this.
SSN Poh: Good morning. Ward 53A, SSN Poh here. How can I help you?
Me: Not exactly a good morning, actually.
SSN Poh: IDAH! What happened? You sound so sick.
Me: Ya I'm going to see the doctor. So I might not be coming.
SSN Poh: Okay. You go see doctor and call back okay.
(background voice of favourite ward doctor: say to her come to work also can see doctor wad.
got so many of us here. which one she want?)
got so many of us here. which one she want?)
Me: Say to him that i heard that.
Doctor: Hahaha! Take care little girl.
Me: Hmm, bye.
i refrained myself from laughing as it'll only worsen my headache.
i got myself a 2 day MC which means that i won't be there to usher in the first day of the JCI audits tomorrow.
which also means that i'm getting a $122 pay cut since i'm still under probation and not entitled to sick leave.
CRAP.
wow. what a long entry of complaints.
