oh yeah, i don't know about you atas people, but i love a bit of singlish in my everyday conversation. think it is important to speak fluently, eloquently and to articulate when speaking with certain people otherwise English peppered with Hokkien/Mandarin/Malay/Hindi brings a heartland magic to speech. and where else in the world can you find a language so uniquely rojak.
for example, the phrase damn sian or damn sial just about brings the correct amount of emphasis and ooomph to describe agitation. i told you...there isn't an English phrase shiok enough to replace it.
i hope i haven't encouraged the demise of the Speak Good English campaign. just a personal view.
